What’s the difference between a medium and a channeler?

Although mediums can communicate with spirit guides, ascended masters and angels, their focus is generally on communicating with our deceased loved ones.

Channelers (sometimes referred to as channels) are basically mediums with a specialty. They focus on communicating with spirit guides, ascended masters and angels.

Traditionally, channelers are channeling messages from advanced spirits, usually to communicate spiritual wisdom about life and the afterlife. Many channelers work with the same higher-level spirit or a group of spirits their entire life.

Jane Roberts communicated with Seth, for instance. Paul Selig works with his Guides. When communicating with a group of higher beings (often called non-physical entities), channelers commonly refer to them by one name, such as Abraham, The Group, The Committee or The Council.

If you’re seeking to communicate with deceased loved ones in spirit, you’ll want to use a medium. If you want to communicate with one or more advanced spirits for universal wisdom, you’ll want to use a channeler.
